Due to the harsh environmental conditions on board ships compared to on land, there are higher requirements for the structure and form of ship lighting fixtures. In addition to complying with regulations and relevant standards, the materials of ship lighting fixtures must be sturdy, lightweight, aesthetically pleasing, and able to meet the requirements of the operating environment; The structure should be sturdy, the components should not easily fall off, and the shock resistance should be good; Good moisture and water resistance, especially for outdoor installed lighting fixtures, the protection level should reach IP5x; For places with hazardous dust, the protection level can reach up to IP6x; Has good grounding protection measures. The commonly used lighting fixtures on ships should have certain mechanical protection performance to ensure reliable operation. According to different usage scenarios, the structure of ship lighting fixtures can be divided into the following four types. (1) Protective type: used for dry cabins, such as crew and passenger cabins, rest rooms, restaurants, cockpits, signal rooms, etc., with a protection level of IP2x. (2) Moisture proof type: used in places with high humidity, such as corridors, kitchens, laundry rooms, etc., with a protection level of IP3x~IP4x. (3) Waterproof type: used in places with water droplets, splashes, and condensation, such as boiler rooms, dry cargo holds, shaft tunnels, pipe tunnels, outdoor decks, etc., with a protection level of IP5x~IP6x. (4) Explosion proof type: used in areas where flammable and explosive gases may accumulate and in hazardous areas, with the best sealing performance. Used for compartments containing flammable objects and explosive gases, such as battery rooms, paint storage rooms, oil separator rooms, second class areas under the ceiling iron plate, and oil tanks.
